Here’s something I’ve been thinking about as 2023 ends:
No life goes without challenges or setbacks. We can look at our world and see conflicts over land, divisive politics, health, or personal difficulties. No doubt there are plenty of problems we can point to. When we let them be the primary focus of our awareness, we can easily fall into the “ain’t it awful” mentality. After all, we can point out plenty of "facts" to justify such a perspective.
Yet, individually, we can decide to release the mindset of how bad things are and replace it with the attitude of finding every hidden blessing and opportunity to thrive, regardless of how things appear in the moment. We can even make the upcoming year our best one ever.
Now, many people find such thinking heretical, considering the current environment or situation they are in. However, this is the time to take the words of the master teacher, Jesus the Christ, to heart - "It is done unto you as you believe." Moreover, history has proven that some incredible opportunities arise from the most significant challenges.
To experience those opportunities requires we, "Come out from among them," as it says in 2 Corinthians 6:17, and break away from the collective consciousness's dominant thinking. To get there, we must do our part.
Here’s a homework assignment to help change your mindset from overcoming challenges or getting through life to one in which 2024 is better than ever. I will be doing this and hope you will as well.
Imagine it’s December 31, 2024. On that day, you look back and celebrate the fact that 2024 turned out to be the best year of your life. To accept our blessings, we know we must have a mindset of positive expectancy. This assignment is like writing a movie script of your ideal or perfect year. The goal is to imprint on your subconscious mind a powerful vision of the future you want to bring into reality. It peeks into the future – it might be a project you see completed, a goal you reach, the success of a profitable business idea you manifested, and so forth.
Before the final day of 2024 arrives, you are grateful here and now because the entire year was better than ever imagined. This can be your reality - your best year ever. It is not a farfetched notion. Others will do it; so can you. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
